Wedding day

A morning with an order

I arrive at the time in your contract, set up by a window, and style your party one by one, with the bride finished last.

Most mornings start four to six hours before the first photographs, depending on the size of the party. We work out the order at the trial and write it into the contract, so on the day nobody has to decide anything.

The morning

The morning, in order

A sample for a party of six. Yours is set at the trial.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Arrival and set-up

I arrive at the agreed time and set up by a window with a chair and an outlet. I lay out pins, tools and your accessories.

    • About 30 minutes

  2. 02

    Step 2: Mothers and bridesmaids

The party goes first, in the order we planned, so each look is matched and no one is rushed.

    • 45–60 minutes each

  3. 03

    Step 3: The bride

Your look is last, so it is freshest for the photographs, with your veil placed and pinned as we tested it.

    • 90–120 minutes

  4. 04

    Step 4: A last check

A walk around the whole party, a pin or two reset, and a short kit of pins and spray left for the day.

    • About 15 minutes

Before the day

What to have ready

  • Clean, dry hair

Wash it the night before or that morning, fully dry and without product, for everyone being styled.

  • A room with light

A room with a window, a chair, an outlet and space for a table. Hotel rooms and bridal suites work well.

  • Buttons or zips

A robe or a top that opens at the front, so nothing goes over finished hair.

Questions about the morning

How many people can you style?

Up to six looks in one morning, the bride included. For a bigger party we decide together who needs styling and who doesn't, or I suggest a second stylist for you to book.

How long will the morning take?

A bride's look takes 90 to 120 minutes and the others 45 to 60. I set a start time by working backward from your first photographs, and we write it into the contract.

Can flower girls have their hair done?

Yes. A braid, a pinned curl or a small bun takes about 20 to 30 minutes, at the venue, with a parent or guardian nearby.

Ready to hold your date?

Send your date and venue. I'll tell you whether it is open.
